July 2026: Published a new IZA Discussion Paper and an ESB Dutch policy article on the impact of talk therapy in GP practices. 

March 2026: I have been invited to join IZA as a research affiliate

November 2025: New IZA working paper and discussion article out in IZA WoL. We show that spikes in SI inflow at UI exhaustion are unlikely to be driven by moral hazard but are a catch-up of non-take-up.

May 2025: My paper on the detrimental impact of mental healthcare waiting times has been accepted for publication in the Review of Economics and Statistics.

April 2025: Our paper on the elevated disability risk of workers with fixed-term contracts has been accepted at Labour Economics.

October 2024: I was a guest on De Nieuwe Economen Podcast and discussed my research on mental health (in Dutch).

August 2024: Joined Lancaster University as a Lecturer.

April 2024: I have been awarded an NWO Rubicon grant to fund research on mental health interventions and their impact on the labor market

May 2023: Change of plans! I will be joining the NBER for one year as a post-doctoral fellow, before heading to Lancaster University full-time

February 2023: Excited to announce that I will be joining the department of economics at Lancaster University as a lecturer in September

January 2023: Honored to have been awarded the 2021/2022 SBE-Tinbergen best PhD publication award for our paper in the Journal of Health Economics

November 2022: My job market paper on the impact of waiting times for mental health treatment on employment is now available online

June 2022: Policy discussion article published in ESB (in Dutch) on the difference in DI risk between permanent and temporary contract

March 2022: New discussion paper out on the difference in disability insurance risk between permanent and temporary contracts.

Feb 2022: Our paper on the disincentives of disability benefits after recovery has been published in the Journal of Health Economics.

Sep 2021: I will be visiting prof. Nicole Maestas at Harvard University from March '22 until May '22.
