(Not) Talking Through Mental Health Problems: How Talk Therapy Impacts Healthcare Utilization, Health and Employment
I've written a policy articles on the impact of introducing mental health nurses at GP offices in ESB (Dutch). The findings were covered by Dutch (online) newspapers Trouw, NRC, and Nu.nl, and I was asked to comment on them on Radio 1.
The findings have been presented at the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, the Ministry of Finance, and at the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB), and referenced in the same governmental report on the challenges of the mental healthcare system in the Netherlands. As a result of my publication, formal questions were raised to the Minister of Health by a member of parliament.
Is Delayed Mental Health Treatment Detrimental To Employment?
I've written policy articles on the impact of waiting times for mental healthcare in ESB (Dutch) and in The Conversation (English). The ESB piece was among the top 20 most-read articles of 2023, and the findings were covered by Dutch (online) newspapers Telegraaf, FD, NRC, NOS, and by Radio 1, Radio 1. I was also asked to discuss the findings in the Dutch Nieuwe Economen Podcast. The piece in The Conversation was covered by  The Guardian.
